‘The Old School House’ is based on many beautiful old country houses that I have seen on my walks with ‘Tinker the scruffy dog in the countryside. I live in Brighton and yearn for the green idyll, so head out as often as I can to the hills. Last Summer we were in the Midlands on a narrow boat, and the beautiful countryside there inspired this painting.
